Going to the Sun Road

Our last stop before heading into Canada is Glacier National Park.  You enter the park just North of Kalispell, Montana and drive all the way though on the Going-to-The-Sun-RoadThe road is considered an civil engineering marvel for it's amazing viewpoints and switchbacks, and of course it is a motorcyclist playground and we enjoyed every minute of it.

We saw a few streams and lakes on the way into the heart of the park. Great weather and a relaxing drive is just what we needed.

And here is more propaganda about the existence of "bears".  I mean really, if they are real why haven't we seen any?

Another advertisement for bear spray.
We did not see any glaciers because they have been drastically affected by the warming global temperatures.  We did see some snow in July which is a treat for us.

People not paying attention to the danger sign.

When people ask us why we travel by motorbike our first answer is, because it is a multi-sensory way to experience the road.  We feel changes in temperature and smell rain just before it starts.  We have a 360 degree point of view. We can hear the rushing of a river and birds signing.

Here are our favorite photos from Glacier National Park.

There is another really cool way to see the park. Check out this ride!  They are called Red Jammers and have been giving tours since the 1930's when the Going-to-the-Sun-Road was opened.

As far as wildlife we only saw this guy. He was chastising the tourist for disturbing his nap.

After a long leisurely ride we stop for dinner and take one last photo of Montana before heading into Canada.  Great white north, here we come!

Goodbye Montana!
